Introduction

Risk Management is a top priority in all sectors, from supply chain to cyber security. As a professional in this field, you have to be at the top of your game, to truly identify the threats your organization faces and how to protect against them. You need to be able to perform risk assessments, reduce organizational vulnerabilities, select cost effective risk controls, and obtain buy in from upper management. Risk Management Continuity  focuses on teaching those skills and many more. Developed and taught by experienced instructors, this course combines theory with real world practices to give you in depth instruction and tools you can put to use in creating a robust Risk Management program. The course is designed to give students the tools they need to pass the Risk Management Examination and continue on the path toward becoming a DRI Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or Associate Risk Management Professional (ARMP).

Objectives 

Ü Explain the approach for establishing an operational Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) aligned to the Qatar

Ü Identify components and best practices of a successful BCM Program, specifically its policy, strategy and supporting tools

Ü Understand the components for an effective Business Impact Analysis (BIA) that is able to meet strategic, tactical and operational requirements of an organization

Ü Develop a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and delivery of a Business Continuity (BC) exercise

Ü Develop requirements for an auditable Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) to comply with Qatar NCEMA 7000:2015

Ü Provide students with detailed instruction and tools for implementing DRI business continuity management risk assessment

Ü  Delineate the skills, knowledge and procedures business continuity professionals need to develop and manage a business continuity risk management program

Ü  Prepare to pass the Risk Management

Ü Examination with a minimum passing grade of 75%

Course Methodology

The course uses self-assessments and a wide mix of business cases that promote healthy discussions around the importance of managing multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities. Participants will benefit from role plays covering workplace challenges related to handling tasks, deadlines and priorities. They will learn how to deal with conflicts that may arise as a result. Interactive team exercises are also used with each team presenting their findings and comments.  

This interactive training course includes the following training methodologies as a percentage of the total tuition hours:

Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) 2018 ISO 22301:2019 Societal Security; Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) requirements

BCM Program, Policy, Strategy and Tools

Ü Implementing a BCM program, and its leadership

Ü The BC Policy requirements

Ü The BC strategy – how and depth?

Ü Contingency and standby

DAY 4 :

Threat Analysis

Ü  Learn how to conduct a vulnerability analysis

Ü  Explore the use of risk identification metrics

Ü  Monitoring and Reporting

Ü  Explore risk aggregation concepts, the annualized loss expectancy (ALE) formula and the DRI Risk Management Toolbox

Ü Participate in a comprehensive review for the Risk Management Examination

DAY 5  :

Developing and implementing a Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

Ü Roles and responsibilities of BC Champion and Team Leaders

Delivering a Business Continuity Exercise

Ü Types of testing/exercising

Ü Key components for delivery of an auditable exercise

Maintenance of the BCMS

Ü Overriding management review and continuous improvement
