Introduction

This IACT training course in Operation and Maintenance of Sustainable Drainage  .

comprise an approach to managing Operation and Maintenance of Sustainable Drainage that collect,

clean, store and release water slowly to the environment in as natural a manner as possible.

Conventional drainage is traditionally maintained by contractors using specialist machinery to clear

gullies, pipework, and storage zones of trash and sediment accumulation. Most conventional drainage

infrastructure is out of sight; so the frequency of routine maintenance is generally determined by routine

rather than need, and irregular maintenance activities tend to be triggered by system performance failure.

The features in Drainage Networks Operation & Maintenance should be highly visible and their function should therefore be easily appreciated by those charged with their maintenance. When problems occur,

they are generally obvious and can be remedied simply by using standard landscaping practice.

The long-term deterioration of Drainage Networks tends to be gradual and, if the systems are properly

maintained, can be managed out.

Objectives

Þ Describe the purpose, need and importance of Drainage Networks Operation & Maintenance and discuss the current challenges posed by urbanization and climate change towards sustainable and resilience cities.

Þ Describe different types of sewer systems, their advantages and disadvantages as well as their

Þ criteria for design, construction, and operation and maintenance and applicability.

Þ Describe the hydrological processes relevant to urban stormwater and the impacts of urbanization on hydrological processes and Drainage Networks Operation & Maintenance Be better equipped to

Þ rethink the strategies and tactics of your own organization, and redefine what you have to do to

Þ succeed in the foggy future of the current marketplace.

Þ Enable delegates to optimize the operation and maintenance of different types of pumps.

Þ Learn how to design sewage pumping stations and produce system curves.

Þ Give the delegates the ability to quickly and efficiently trouble shoot pumping machinery problems.

Þ Develop knowledge about selection, operation and maintenance strategies.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Þ Engineers who need to design sewage pumping stations, whether as part of their daily work or only occasionally.

Þ Engineers and others who are called upon to assess designs submitted for approval.

Þ Project Managers & Procurement Professionals who need to be aware of the issues.

Þ Those who may become responsible for the design or operation of sewage pumping stations including

Course Methodology

The course uses self-assessments and a wide mix of business cases that promote healthy discussions around the importance of managing multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities. Participants will benefit from role plays covering workplace challenges related to handling tasks, deadlines and priorities. They will learn how to deal with conflicts that may arise as a result. Interactive team exercises are also used with each team presenting their findings and comments.

Each module covers different aspects of using Game-Based Learning and Gamification in education. Coursework will incorporate

your existing knowledge and experience and provide helpful learning environment with a good mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. On all outlines will apply Skills for Game-Based Learning and Gamification and practiced in hands-on, collaborative way within an international group setting.

This interactive training course includes the following training methodologies as a percentage of the total tuition hours:

  • 30% Lectures, Concepts, Role Play
  • 30% Workshops & Work Presentations, Techniques
  • 20% Based on Case Studies & Practical Exercises
  • 20% Videos, Software & General Discussions
